Hello all….I hope everyone had a lovely Easter holiday with family and friends. Well, I know some time has passed since my last post, but I’m hoping that will change. I have several projects in the works and have been diligently working on content for you guys! First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read my posts and for the unwavering support (**hashtag blessed**). Admittedly, these last few months have been insanely hectic for me and I’ve found myself struggling to keep up with the daily demands of work, family, and blogging. With that being said….although Easter has come and gone, I still wanted to share a few images of what I wore on Easter Sunday: A flirty and romantic MISA dress.
For me, Spring signals the reawakening of nature from it’s winter hibernation. Flowers begin to bloom, nature’s colors become more vibrant, and days get just a little bit longer. As much as I adore a pretty bouquet of flowers, I’m definitely not the gardening type. I may not cultivate flowering blooms, but I sure love to wear them. Therefore, in celebrating the spirit and joy of Spring, I thought it seemed fitting to embrace florals.
So let’s talk about this ridiculously gorgeous “Misa Los Angeles” dress I recently purchased at Revolve. I mean, it is wickedly feminine and elegant. This dress is soft and airy; it’s made to twirl and it’s meant to catch the wind. It is without a doubt, one of the most comfortable dresses I have ever worn. Not only is it romantic, it’s adorned with one of my favorite flowers…Roses. This is dress is so pretty, it literally deserves its own IG page.
Onto the details. Flirty ruffles accentuate the bodice and draw the eyes upward. The high elastic waistband is highly figure-flattering and makes this dress extremely comfortable. In keeping with one of this season’s Spring runway trends, it has a plunging neckline. I had some initial trepidation about possibly spilling over the low-cut neckline, but the dress proved to have adequate coverage. Easily adjustable straps remedied any concerns about having a possible wardrobe malfunction (unless Justin Timberlake happens to show up…and there I go talking about JT again).
I’m wearing a pair of muted pink nude heels, but you can also opt for a pair of kitten heels or flats. Either would be equally fashionable to play up the idyllic charm of the dress.
For this Spring season, soft florals will continue to be a mainstay, however, bold floral prints will be making the rounds as well. Other floral trends to look out for are micro-florals, 60’s inspired florals, abstract florals, and tropical florals. It’s the ultimate melange of flowery prints. There is truly a floral print for everyone’s sartorial aesthetic.
In summary, let me close with a quote from one of my favorite movies, The Devil Wears Prada. “Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.” This is merely one of the many snarky and memorable comments made by Miranda Priestley in the movie. It may seem cliché to wear florals for Spring, but they always seem to be a recurrent staple for Spring/Summer fashions. Sometimes, it’s not always about being groundbreaking….it’s simply about feeling feminine and pretty.
